Kanye West’s attorney Blair Berk entered a not guilty plea on the rapper’s behalf Thursday morning in court. Celeb attorney Gloria Allred was present representing photographer Daniel Ramos, and while speaking to reporters, she questioned why Kanye didn’t show up to court himself.

As we previously reported, Yeezy was charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft after allegedly attacking the paparazzo at LAX and grabbing the guy’s camera.

If convicted of both misdemeanors, Kanye faces up to a year in jail.
