Nona Gaye and Frankie Gaye filed suit today indicating that Robin Thickes “Blurred Lines” is a rip-off of their fathers song “Got To Give It Up”.

The claim references two of Thicke’s interviews (Billboard & GQ) in which he mentions “Got to Give It Up” as one of his favorite songs and he wanted to “make something like that, something with that groove.”

The suit also claims Thicke’s song “Love After War” as a copy of Marvin Gaye’s hit “After the Dance”.

The Gaye’s are seeking damages, including profits from the songs, which would probably be in the millions since “Blurred Lines” was number one for 12 weeks.
